ScreenDance Residency consists of a two week residency for the winner of the Swedish category at ScreenDance Festival. During the residency the artist is expected to continue to develop researching methods and processes within the genre dance film. The founder and director of ScreenDance Festival Cyntia Botello is the artistic leader of the curatorial process during the two weeks residency.
The year 2016 ScreenDance Festival award was given to Lucas Carlsson for his film SLÄÄP. Lucas Carlsson is currently studying his first year of three at the bachelor’s programme in mime acting at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Lucas has been working professionally as a dancer, actor, choreographer and filmmaker.
