Shelley Vanderbyl
Shelley Vanderbyl is an expressive painter with a heart to see people comforted through her work, especially those experiencing mental hardships. Her work continually reaches towards the viewer; from her pocket-sized landscapes in vintage medicine tins, offering relief in moments of distress, to her nature-inspired frescoes that allow the viewer’s eye to wander while their mind reflects...
Her work is in various corporate, private, royal and public collections across Canada, the UK, Belgium, Switzerland, and multiple hospitals in Sweden. Particularly interested in aiding people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Shelley asks the question with her work, “If what someone has seen can leave them broken, can an image be a part of their healing?”
